Yesterday Dawn sent me an email with my assignment for today.
Suzzane said that she has another photo tag tasks for either of the interns to do on SmugMug. When she says for "either of the interns," she is referring to Michelle Rojas and me. Michelle is the other intern that comes Mondays and Fridays, so we unfortunately, have not met yet. I hope to meet her soon!
The first task was to open the Hammerman October 2013 folder from SmugMug of Iona College.
Then, I had to remove these keywords from ALL the photos:
- st
- smcvt
- michaels
- college
These are words that mean nothing at all so we don't need to tag them in the photos.
Then add applicable keywords, I.e.
- Nyre (The president)
- Campus
- Student life
- "Banner” for the red Iona banners
- Dorms and residence Halls (Conese Hall, South Hall, Loftus Hall...)
- Athletics
- Rowing
- Volleyball
- Track
- Softball
- Baseball
- Diving
- Lacross
- etc
When I was tagging the sports, Suzzane, (not Suzanne Augustyn, the director of Creative Services, who always gives me the assignments) but Suzanne Flood the content specialist, who works next to my desk, told me something that I didn't know before, that Baseball and Softball were the same sport.
And baseball generally for men.
Then, there were 3 words that were written mistakenly:
1. Atletic --> ATHLETICS (the H was missing)
2. Athetics --> ATHLETICS (the L was missing)
3. Athetics Center --> (another time the L)
The next step was to change the tag "Ryan" or "Library", to "RYAN LIBRARY." The whole name.
So I had to identify where the Ryan building was in each photo to delete the wrong tag and add the complete one.
The same with "Mazzella", "Soccer Field" and "Field." And add the correct tag, "MAZZELLA FIELD"
My last task for today was the word "men." As the word "college" is a word that didn't specify anything. I had to click on the keyword “men” in the cloud at the bottom of home page and remove “men” from all photos that were tagged with it.
